A good starting hand will give you plenty of Seven Dwarfs to play that will all benefit each other to help you control the board or gain an early lore advantage, depending on your matchup
This works in most decks
One such card could be Cecil, Dark Knight, which costs 1 Black mana for a 2/3 Legendary Creature with Deathtouch, but it arguably has a downside that is not necessarily its Darkness ability, but the fact that one can't have multiple copies of this card on the battlefield at once
The ingenuity of lesson/learn is that almost every lesson becomes playable when you dont have to put it in your mainboard
She also has an ability called Honor to the Ancestors, which reads Whenever this character quests, you may reveal the top card of your deck
If you're newer to the game (or maybe even thinking of getting a younger player into the game), I would absolutely start with the Ruby and Amethyst Starter Deck
